Wilfred A. 'Willie' Pfeifer
Wilfred A. "Willie" Pfeifer, 92, Victoria, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at his home.
He was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Victoria to Anthony J. and Rosa (Dreiling) Pfeifer.
He married Bertha (Walter) on Sept. 30, 1946, in Catherine. She preceded him in death Jan. 20, 2010. He was a farmer.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and served on the church committee, Victoria. He collected and restored Minneapolis-Moline tractors and competed in tractor pulls. He was past president and board member of the Victoria-Gorham Co-op. In the 1970s, he won the Bankers Award for Ellis County Soil Conservation District.
He enjoyed the farm and his family.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Pfeifer and wife, Diane, Victoria, and Steve Pfeifer and wife, Mary, all of Victoria; two daughters, Janice Pfannenstiel and husband, Jerry, Munjor, and Shirley Pfeifer, Hays; a brother, Robert Pfeifer, Hays; four sisters, Rosie Phannenstiel, Benton, Esther Maher, Great Bend, Wilma VonLintel and husband, Regis, and Tini Rajewski, all of Victoria; 10 grandchildren, Donna Erickson, Jeff Pfannenstiel, Scott Pfannenstiel, Eric Pfeifer and wife, Jennifer, Kory Pfeifer and wife, Jessi, Troy Pfeifer and wife, Wendy, Jason Pfeifer and companion, Sarah Roach, Jill Pfannenstiel and husband, Clint, Jennifer Amrein and companion, Jeff McQuade, and Jared Pfeifer and fiance, Morgan Lampe; and eight great-grandchildren, Lane Pfannenstiel, Colton Pfannenstiel, Kinley Pfannenstiel, Kennidy Amrein, Reece Amrein, Jack Pfeifer, Kane Pfeifer and Walker Pfeifer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herbert Pfeifer, Edmund Pfeifer and Al Pfeifer; a sister, Ann Kaltenbach; two infant brothers, Anthony and Alfred; and a grandson-in-law, Gary Erickson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671.
A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
