Long Island man killed in Sunday accident
ALMENA -- A Long Island man was killed Sunday just after midnight when the vehicle he was driving missed a curve.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Christopher Robert Hall, 39, was killed in the accident, which occurred on Kansas Highway 383.
A passenger, Regina Marie Hall, 35, Long Island, was flown by Eagle-Med to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb. As of Sunday evening, she was listed in critical condition.
According to the KHP, the 2004 Chrysler Concorde -- driven by Christopher Robert Hall -- was northeast on K-383 when it failed to negotiate a turn, skidded into a creek bottom and collided with a railroad bridge after rolling. The vehicle then caught fire.
Christopher Robert Hall was taken to Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. The Phillips County Sheriff's Department notified next of kin.
The KHP reported it was unclear if either were wearing a seat belt.
