Mill, overlay work to begin in Rawlins County
ATWOOD -- Beginning approximately Wednesday, a road construction project to overlay a portion of Kansas Highway 25 is set to begin in Rawlins County.
Specifically, the job begins just north of the U.S. Highway 36 junction and extends north to the Kansas/Nebraska state line.
The scope includes a 1.5-inch mill and overlay of new asphalt material on approximately 13 miles of the roadway.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car operation during daylight hours on the project. Minor delays should be expected through the construction time frame, not exceeding 15 minutes.
KDOT awarded the construction contract -- totaling $1,164,678 -- to Venture Corp. of Great Bend.
Weather permitting, the construction project will be complete by mid-July.
