Work to begin Monday on Osborne County bridge
OSBORNE -- Work to repair a bridge on U.S. Highway 24, located approximately 4 miles west of Osborne, will begin Monday.
The prime contractor, Bridges Inc. of Newton, will set up a traffic control lighting system that will allow travelers to drive through the project while the construction work is under way.
A delay of five minutes or less is to be expected. The single driving lane will be reduced to a 16-foot width restriction while work occurs on the bridge.
"As always, we ask that the public pay close attention to the signs and the construction workers within a highway work zone," said KDOT Public Affairs Manager Kristen Brands.
The estimated cost of the construction job is $253,330. Work is scheduled to be complete, weather permitting, by the end of November.
