City will consider rezoning for new housing development

Rezoning, platting and annexing of a new housing development on the west end of Hays will have the attention of Hays city commissioners during their regular meeting Thursday night.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
The DK Ranch 30-lot single-family housing development is owned by David Krien, In conjunction with dv8 Interior Design, Krien is working to create a development centering on a western-Americana motif near the intersection of West 27th and U.S. Highway 183 Alternate.
A request to rezone the property from A-L (agricultural) to R-1 (single-familyw) by the Hays Area Planning Commission was approved by the Hays Area Planning Commission in December.
Other agenda items include:
* Hays Convention & Visitors Bureau website presentation.
* Award of bid for the painting of two water and one wastewater clarifier basins.
* Vehicle abatements at 3406 Summer Lane, 509 E. Fifth and 1102 E. 17th.
* Solid waste polycart purchase.
