Charges filed in Colby death

COLBY -- There still aren't many details about the Feb. 9 death of a Colby woman being made public, but the Kansas Attorney General's office Monday said it had filed charges against a Garden City man.
Charges of first-degree murder, aggravated arson and aggravated burglary against William Andrew Shank were filed Monday in Thomas County District Court.
He was arrested the same day authorities were called to the report of a fire at a Colby residence, only to discover 27-year-old Teri L. Morris near the front door. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Shank was arrested in Logan later that day by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, which has been spearheading the investigation.
Shank remains in the Thomas County jail in lieu of $1 million bond.
He was scheduled to make his first appearance this morning before District Judge Glenn Schiffner.
