HHS softball swept by Pratt

PRATT -- The Hays High School softball team struggled on the road Thursday, getting swept by Pratt.
The Indians lost 10-2 in Game 1 and 13-12 in Game 2.
Hays High (1-3) struggled in the opener scoring runs. The Indians scored two despite getting eight hits and walked twice.
First baseman Shea Briggs scored both runs, going 2 of 4 at the plate. Left fielder Julie Balzer and Kaylie Schoendaller each had one hit and one RBI.
In Game 2, Hays High actually had a 12-9 lead heading into the seventh inning, but surrendered four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The Indians out hit Pratt 18 to 11 in the second game and was walked more as well, earning seven to Pratt's five. However, Hays High had seven errors.
Madison Prough got the loss in the opener, allowing 10 runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out two in six innings. Jenna Luebbers suffered the loss in Game 2, allowing 11 runs, six earned, on 10 hits and a walk in 4.1 innings.
