GREAT BEND -- The Hays High School girls' swimming team finished ninth Friday at the Great Bend Invitational.

Junior Courtney Hess led the Indians with a fifth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 6 minutes and 25.41 seconds.

Sophomore Taylor Hodny placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:25.72, and Hess finished 10th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:24.94.
