Kansas agency is finalist for Guard award

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- A northeast Kansas agency is one of 35 national finalists for the annual Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.
Johnson County Med-Act in Olathe is a county-wide emergency medical service with advanced life support capability.
The Defense Employer Support Freedom Award honors employers for their support of employees who serve in the National Guard and reserves. Fifteen winners will be named in September during a ceremony in Washington.
Johnson County Med-Act was among more than 3,200 employers nominated from around the country.
