Body found in SE Kan. may be that of murder victim

PITTSBURG, Kan. (AP) -- Authorities in southeast Kansas have been investigating the discovery of a man's body they believe may be that of a recent murder victim.

Crawford County Sheriff Sandy Horton said authorities believe the body found Sunday north of Mulberry is that of Richard Davis, who was reported missing last October.

Duane Wahl of Mulberry was arrested earlier and charged with Davis' murder. Police said the 33-year-old Wahl shot at his own house and then reported it as a drive-by shooting.

Wahl also pleaded guilty in November to indecent liberties with a child under age 16.

Horton says his office received a tip about the body's location, and that evidence is being collected at the grave where the body was found.
