Zachary Kuntz is Boy Scouts of America's newest Eagle Scout

The Wheatland District of the Coronado Area Council of Boy Scouts of America is proud to announce its newest Eagle Scout. Zachary Kuntz, Hays, received his Eagle Scout award Jan. 17 at Hays United Methodist Church.

There were many Scout leaders present, including Troop 133 Scoutmaster James Mulkey, Troop 133 Assistant Scoutmaster Dana Cunningham, and Hays United Methodist Church Pastor Jerre Nolte.

Kuntz has been involved with Boy Scouts since first grade when he joined the Tiger Cubs, which is part of the Cub Scouting program. He joined Troop 133 chartered to First Presbyterian Church in Hays in March 2005. He has had the position of senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and assistant patrol leader. He is a brotherhood member of the Boy Scouts Honor Society, Order of the Arrow.

Kuntz has earned 27 merit badges on his path to the Eagle Scout Award, including first aid, swimming, personal management, camping and emergency preparedness.
