The Hays Larks fell to the leader in the Jayhawk League standings Tuesday.

The Larks lost 9-8 at Dodge City.

The Larks dropped to 11-9 in the league and 17-9 overall, while Dodge City moved to 12-6 and 15-7 overall.

The score was tied 8-8 before Dodge City had a two-out rally, hitting a single and getting a runner in scoring position on a passed ball. Then the Athletics got a single to win it.

Larks pitcher Jake McDavid (1-1) retired 13 in a row before giving up the two-out rally.
