Lucas Adam's Apple Festival is Sept. 5

LUCAS -- A parade, barbecue and more are planned for Sept. 5 at the 36th annual Adam's Apple Festival in Lucas.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. The free barbecue, sponsored by the city of Lucas, Lucas Area Chamber of Commerce and Pride, is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Mini Park.

Afternoon activities include a Wii tournament at 1 p.m. at Lucas Theater, a children's treasure hunt at 1 p.m. at City Park gazebo, chalk art with Henri Wenthe at 4 p.m. at Grassroots Art Center, and a Kids Pedal Tractor Pull at 6 p.m. at Lucas Fire Department.

At noon, a Stock Truck and ATV Mud Run, Lawn Tractor and ATV Sled Pull are planned at the McGuire Farm, north of Lucas.

An exhibit of works by Adolph Hannemann will be on display at Grassroots Art Center.
