OSBORNE -- Bob Basso, Los Angeles, who has gained recent acclaim with his Thomas Paine video presentations on YouTube, will be in Osborne to celebrate the Fourth of July at the Chamber of Commerce's annual hog roast.

Basso, as Thomas Paine, the founding father of the United States whose pamphlet, "Common Sense," advocated the colonies' independence from Britain, will also speak at a ticket-only gathering at 2 p.m. July 4 at the United Christian Church and again at the chamber's fireworks display at the Osborne County fairgrounds.

A limited amount of tickets for the Christian Church event are available at Osborne Office and Electronic Source, 133 W. Main, or call (785) 346-2591. The event will also feature opera singer and vocal teacher Paula Swornay, Los Angeles, along with pianist and composer Marsha Doyenne, Concordia. Other local and regional acts will join them at the fairgrounds in the evening.
