Authorities seek man wanted in stabbing

Ellis County authorities are continuing to search for a Hays man in connection with a Saturday morning incident that sent a second man to Hays Medical Center with multiple stab wounds.
The Ellis County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate 29-year-old Chad Miller, 1000 E. Eighth, according to Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin. He is wanted in connection with the alleged stabbing of Brenon Johnson, 23, Hays, with a folding pocketknife.
Johnson since has been released from the hospital.
Miller was released nearly a year ago from state prison, where he served almost two years on a Rooks County charge of aggravated battery.
Harbin said the stabbing occurred when an altercation between the two men escalated at a gathering early Saturday morning in the 2400 block of East Seventh in Buffalo Hills Trailer Park.
The altercation stems from an apparent comment made by Miller about a woman accompanying Johnson, both of whom were leaving the gathering.
Harbin said it's unclear at this time what the exchange was about, other than Miller reportedly making a derogatory comment.
