TMP soccer suffers mercy-rule loss

WICHITA -- The Thomas More Prep-Marian girls' soccer team saw firsthand why Wichita Trinity is considered the top contender for the Class 4-3-2-1A title in May.

Trinity mercy ruled TMP 10-0 four minutes into the second half on Friday at Trinity.

Trinity's Grace Linton scored four goals and contributed two assists. The other six goals were scored by six individuals: Alex Shimp, Madison Clinton, Kaleigh Chrag Jessie Clinton, Ashley West and Ashley Burns. Caroline Zielker had two assists, and Shimp added another.

TMP (2-3) managed just one shot on goal by sophomore Grace Volker.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Gustin finished with five saves.
