BOONE, Iowa -- After rain delayed the start of Monday's opening day of the 30th annual IMCA Super Nationals, races were more on schedule Tuesday.
But it was a late night, or early morning for many drivers on the first day. Racing didn't end until the 6 o'clock hour Tuesday morning.
Jacob Crowell of Clearwater, a regular at area tracks, finished 15th in his hobby stock A-main during Monday's show.
Goodland's Tyrel Smith got his car back together after losing a driveline in hot laps to finish eighth in his B-main, and Brian Stich of Topeka won one of seven B-mains in the class.
Brenden Damon of Great Bend was 10th in his C-main event of the sport mod class, while Jason Nelssen got his car repaired to finish second in his C-main.
Jesse Levin of Salina (seventh), Kurtis Pihl of Falun (11th), Kaid Calhoon of Beloit (second), Garden City's Mike Wadel (seventh) and Jake Krone of Beloit (first) also competed in several C-mains in the class.
