SALINA, Kan. -- After last week's big Sprint Car event things return to normal tonight as the difficult to beat regular season continues at the Salina Speedway.
The highlight of the night is a fund raising 50/50 ticket event scheduled for Jayden Hicks. Jayden was electrocuted in an accident back on May 29th in downtown Salina and is still in critical condition in a Wichita hospital. All proceeds raised will be donated to the family.
While the Smoky Hill River Festival is in high gear festival goers have the opportunity to take in the racing tonight for half price if they wear their River Festival button. That means adults with the button will get in for only $6!
As for the show on hand, the Friesen Chevrolet Late Models presented by M&H Motors are back in action. They will be joined by the Belleville Motorsports IMCA Modifieds, Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods, Auto House Mod Lites, and T&R Dirt Construction Mini Stocks.
The IMCA Modified division recently was given the chance to race for $1,000 more than usual if the car count in the class is 30 or more. That would make the feature event pay $600 to win and $125 to start with pay improvements in every position.
Pit gates open at 4:30PM with grandstands at 5:30PM, hot laps at 7:00PM, and racing to follow.
Adults are $12 ($6 with river festival button), kids 17 & under are FREE, and discounts are offered for Seniors and Military with ID. Pit passes are $25.
