TULSA, Okla. (May 26, 2009)- The best sprint car drivers in the Northeast are ready to invade one of the most unique and exciting racetracks they will visit all year long.

The high-banked 1/3-mile Woodhull Raceway will host a Lucas Oil ASCS Patriot Regional event for the third time in as many years this Saturday for the fifth event of an already thrilling 2009 season.

Woodhull is home to the largest weekly car count in New York State and when the sprint cars invade this weekend, their already filled grandstands are sure to overflow.

With four wins in the first four races of 2009, the possibility for a fifth different driver going to Victory Lane is a very real possibility, especially when you consider the names that are winless in this young season.

Trevor Lewis, of Upper Black Eddy, PA, is the most recent winner on the Lucas Oil ASCS Patriot Tour. Lewis leads the standings over four drivers still looking for win No. 1.

Jared Zimbardi, of Little Valley, NY, is coming off his best run of the year with a third at Eriez and sits second in points, the position he has been in the last two years. "The Juice" has never found great success in Woodhull but could very easily turn it around this weekend.

Bryan Howland, of Auburn, NY, slipped back to third in points this past weekend but returns to a track where he scored a runner-up finish en route to his second Patriot Championship in 2008.

Bubba Broderick, of Brookfield, CT, won a Central New York Mini Sprint event at Woodhull in 2006 and love to run up on the top of the banking. Broderick's first A-Main start in his sprint car career came at Woodhull and since then he has become a major factor on tour, including a pair of top-3 finishes this past weekend at Sharon and Eriez.

Don Adamczyk, of Williamsville, NY has struggled with engine problems this season but still sits fifth in points. Adamczyk was runner-up in the first Patriot race at Woodhull back in 2007.

The Breen Brothers, Blake and Bobby, each have feature wins this season and each have heat wins in their career at Woodhull. Look for these exciting youngsters from Savannah, NY to get to the front this weekend.

Chris Muhleisen, of Arkport, NY, and Gary Troutman, of Andover, NY, are part of a group of locals that are sure to have their own cheering section this weekend. Both of them have fared well at this Southern Tier staple in the past and could do the same this weekend.

Chuck Hebing, of Ontario, NY, has won both Patriot races that have been held at Woodhull. "Cobra" has been able to find a line that few competitors dare to venture.

Cory Sparks, from Edinburg, NY, is the most recent sprint car winner at Woodhull. Sparks was also a mini sprint winner there before he made the move to the full sized sprints.

George Suprick, the 2004 Patriot Champion, won a pair of features at Woodhull earlier in his career and would love to be the first driver to ever win a third at the 1/3-mile.

This event will be the first of four events as part of the PJ Motorsports King of the Southern Tier Series. A number of competitors such as Brad Knab, Stan Zanchin, Tim Zack, John Schuyler and Scott Bonnell that have indicated they will chase this mini series point fund in 2009.
