ASCS Cowtown Sprint Nationals pushed back one day by weather

KENNEDALE, Texas (October 8, 2009) - Inclement weather throughout the week around the Fort Worth, TX, area has pushed back the running of the Second Annual Cowtown Sprint Nationals by one day. The event will conclude the season for the ASCS Gulf South, Lone Star and Sooner Regions.

Rather than take place as originally scheduled on Friday and Saturday night, the $2,000 to win preliminary is now set for Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. with the $8,000-to-win Cowtown Sprint Nationals finale now slated for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Heavy rain throughout the week with more expected overnight precipitated the postponement of the originally scheduled Friday night event. Ample time to rework the track as necessary has been allowed for with the adjusted starting times for Saturday and Sunday.

Aaron Reutzel (Gulf South) and Kevin Ramey (Lone Star) both have virtual locks on their respective ASCS Regional championships, while Joe Wood, Jr., holds a 30-point lead over Matt Covington in the ASCS Sooner title chase.
