The Decatur County Speedway 2009 racing schedule has been announced by the Decatur County Fairboard with four shows on tap for the coming season. The racing action will kick off will be Saturday May 2nd when the United Rebel Sprint Series will come to town to open the season. This will be the second night of a three-day weekend for the traveling Sprint Car Series as they will be in Hays the night before and then will travel to Lexington on Sunday night. This should insure a great field of cars as this will be their opening points weekend for 2009 and many cars are expected to make the tour. Scheduled with the sprint cars will be the Sport-Modifieds and the wild and always entertaining Tuff Trucks.
The next race on the agenda will be Saturday, June 6th and will be run in conjunction with the Last Indian Raid Museum's Summerfest celebration. The United Rebel Sprint cars will again return to town along with the Vintage racers from Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas. Many of the Sprint Car and Vintage racers will be coming early and will have their cars displayed on main street before heading to the race track for another exciting night of racing action. The Vintage racers will also be running on Sunday afternoon and will top off a great weekend of motor madness for the Summerfest activities.
The last two races of the year will be on July 18th and Sept 26th when the United Rebel sprint cars will again return along with the Sport Modifieds and the Tuff Trucks.
Starting times for all of the 2009 races at the Decatur County Speedway will be 7:00 PM.
