HAYDEN, Colo. -- The United Rebel Sprint Series made its debut at Hayden Speedway. Though the field was small, the action on the track was hot and the fans in the stands couldn't get enough. When the checkers flew, it was Patrick Bourke picking up his third URSS feature win of the 2008 season.
Garrett Park of Northglenn, Colo., led the field to the green with Tim Perkins of Parker, Colo., grabbing the lead followed by Park, Jeremy Lueck, Billy Bingham and Sid Blanford rounding out the top five. Lap two saw Bourke take the second spot from Park, bringing
Blanford with him to third. Bingham who was running in the fourth spot brought out the caution as he spun in turn four.
On the restart, Perkins jumped out to the lead once again with Bourke and Blanford on his rear bumper. Lap five saw Bourke make the pass for the lead, with Perkins settling into the runner up position. The action heated up for the second spot as Blanford pressured Perkins for the position for several laps. Blanford finally took the spot on lap nine, relegating Perkins to the third spot.
