Heartland Park Topeka hosts free-ticket weekend for service members

On Saturday and Sunday, Heartland Park Topeka will be hosting the Elapsed Time Drag Series races. They will be offering free admission to members of the military with a valid ID. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day, with races starting at 10 a.m.
National Guard sponsored racers, Brian Pearson and Staff Sgt. James Hubbard, both from Topeka, Kan., hold the first and second positions respectively for the E.T. Series.
According to Heartland Park Topeka officials, points leaders from the E.T. Series will have the opportunity to represent Heartland Park in the Summit Racing Division Five E.T. Finals, held at Heartland Park, to have the chance to compete against all other National Hot Rod Association division winners at the NHRA Winter Nationals. Individual winners receive a division trophy and travel expenses to national finals in Pomona California where they will compete for $ 5,000 and a national champion's trophy.
