MDLMS Late Models ready to rock at Norton

NORTON -- The MidwestDirt Late Model Series is ready to kick back into action with a doubleheader weekend this Saturday and Sunday at the Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton.
Both nights of racing will feature complete shows for the MDLMS Late Models and offer $1,000 to the winner and $200 to start, with a purse of $11,500. There will be no entry fee either night.
The rules for the event are in accordance with the MidwestDirt Late Model Series. One of the highlights of those rules is the weight break and spoiler height given to the cars running a SUPR or IMCA spec motor. The rules in full detail can be seen at www.mdlms.net.
A driver autograph session will take place Sunday afternoon. More details on the event will be announced at the speedway during Saturday night's event.
The event runs with the Norton County Fair and also will feature the URSS 305 sprint cars both days as well.
On Saturday, the pits open at 4 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m., and racing at 7 p.m. Sunday will see the pits open at 3 p.m., with grandstands at 4 p.m., hot laps at 5 p.m., and racing at 6 p.m.
Admission each day will be $15, with kids ages 6 to 13 $5 and those 5 and younger free. Pit passes will be $25.

All competitors are asked to arrive at the track as early as possible in order to be teched. The pill draw will close 30 minutes before race time. Those wishing to register in advance can visit www.mdlms.net and fill in the driver registration form.
