Ramey ropes ASCS Lone Star win at Cowtown

ASCSKENNEDALE, Texas (June 27, 2009) - Kevin Ramey became the first repeat winner in American Sprint Car Series Lone Star Region competition by winning Saturday night's 25-lap feature event atop the high-banked, º-mile Cowtown Speedway clay oval.

Advancing from the third row, Ramey took the point away from race-long leader George White on the 18th round en route to the $2,000 triumph aboard the Williams Motorsports Wells-powered City Vending/Melray Oil & Gas No. 7m entry.

The two-time ASCS Sooner Region champion padded his points lead in the inaugural Lone Star title chase by taking the checkered flag in front of White, with Memphis shoe Don Young, Justin Melton and Brad Welborn rounding out the top five.

Skip Wilson was sixth, with Robert Sellers, Brandon Berryman, Claud Estes and Scott Reneau completing the top ten.

Kris Miller, Estes, Ramey and Melton topped heat race action for the 30-car field, with Michael Lang winning the "B" Main.
