RPM Speedway set to host annual fall nationals

HAYS -- RPM Speedway in Hays will host the third annual Fall Nationals on Oct. 16 and 17 at the 3/8-mile oval.
The event features IMCA-sanctioned modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks, Northern sport mods and sport compacts.
Friday evening's show will feature qualifying heat races starting at 7:30.
On Saturday, there will be qualifying heats, last-chance races and the main events. Race time is 3 p.m.
The modified feature will pay $5,000 to win, with $400 to start. Non-qualifiers will get $150. Entry fee is $150.
The stock car main event will pay $3,000 to win, $250 to start and $100 to non-qualifiers. Entry fee is $100.
The hobby stocks will race for $1,000 to win, $150 to start and $75 to non-qualifiers. Entry fee is $75.
Northern sport mods will race for $750 to win and $100 to start. Non-qualifiers will earn $50. Entry fee is $50.
Sport compacts will battle for a $400 top prize with $50 to start and $25 to non-qualifiers. Entry fee is $25.
There will be a test and tune Oct. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The second annual Kansas State Shootout Race of Champions also will take place Saturday. This will feature the top 20 in state points in the modified, stock car and hobby stock divisions.

This is an IMCA sanctioned event, and IMCA rules will be enforced. Drivers will be required to have an IMCA license.
