The prestigious Sprint Car racing event held in Little Rock, AR, each year offers up a $15,000 winner's share with a minimum of $2,200 to all championship feature event starters of the 22nd annual event.
Last year, Tony Bruce, Jr., of Liberal, KS, topped a field of 95 competitors to become the 15th different winner of the event. Bruce is among a loaded list of early entries that also includes the likes of Lucas Oil Sprint Car title contenders Jason Johnson and Shane Stewart, leading Lucas Oil rookie contenders Paul McMahan and Jack Dover, wingless sensation Brad Sweet, noted West Coast gassers Sean Becker and Kyle Hirst, Ohio's Dale Blaney, Texans Sam Hafertepe, Jr., and Travis Rilat, Oklahoma's Zach Chappell, New York's Jessica Zemken and 2008 STN Rookie of the Year Brady Bacon among others.
While Bruce, Jr., is the defending STN champion, other past winners include Jason Meyers (2007), Jason Johnson (2006), Tim Montgomery (2005), Paul McMahan (2002), Jason Sides (2001), Mike Ward (2000), Tim Crawley (1998), Wayne Johnson (1997), Pete Butler (1996), Terry Gray (1994) and John Gerloff (1993).
