The United Rebel Sprint Series opens it's fourth season with three action packed nights of racing. The URSS continues to grow, as it has become the Midwest's fastest growing Sprint Car Sanction, with drivers from six states competing for the National Champions ship in 2009.
Friday night the Rebels make their first appearance at the RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas. Last year, Quinter's CJ Johnson swept the four races held at the track, including picking up the Inaugural "Wheatshocker Nationals" Crown. A strong field of drivers is expected as it will be the first points race of the season for the URSS series, and it is the first time that drivers will be able to hit the track here in Kansas. Racing action starts at 7:30 PM sharp.
Saturday night the URSS Rebels make their first appearance of the 2009 season at the Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, Kansas. The high-banked 3/8's mile oval is always a favorite of the URSS drivers, as the racing features two and three wide action. Oberlin native Cody Salem will make the trip back after picking up his first win of he season win at the recently held URSS/LA Raceway Challenge in LaMonte, Missouri April 4th. Although it wasn't a URSS point's race, the win was special for the Flying Angels Racing Team. Racing action at Oberlin begins at 7:00 PM.
Sunday night the URSS Rebels will wrap up the weekend at Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska. The Rebel will be making three appearances in the 2009 season at the lightning fast 3/8's mile oval, and it is guaranteed to keep fans on their feet as the Rebels battle for bragging rights. Last year Ken Lutters and the "Kansas Tornado" Jon Johnson picked up wins at he Fairgrounds, look for both to be one of the favorites to pick up yet another win. Racing action starts at 6:30 PM at Lexington.
