Tom and Jane Washburn, Newton, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Washburn, to Curtis Leiker, son of Ernie and Sandy Leiker, Hays.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Newman University with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

She is employed at Invista, Wichita.

The prospective bridegroom received a bachelor's degree in 2008 and a master's degree in biological and agricultural engineering in 2010 at Kansas State University.

He is employed at Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing, Emporia.

A May 12, 2012, wedding is planned at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Wichita.
