Ness City seniors accept FHSU scholarships

Several local students accepted scholarships from Fort Hays State University for the 2013-14 academic year at a recent Student Recognition Program in Dodge City.
Colin Foos, a 2013 Ness City High School graduate, accepted a $900 Academic Opportunity Award from the Institute of Applied Technology and a $500 Copper Academic Award. Foos is the son of Curtis and Val Foos, Ness City, and Vicky Foos, Scott City. He plans to major in industrial technology.
Brant Hagans, a 2013 Ness City High School graduate, accepted a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in music. He also won the drawing for a $400 FHSU Student Recognition Program Scholarship. Hagans is the son of Kim Hagans and Amy Stoecklein, Ness City. He plans to major in music technology.
Joni Johnson, a 2013 Ness City High School graduate, accepted a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in nursing and an $800 Hays City Silver Academic Award. Johnson is the daughter of Ramona Johnson, Utica. She plans to major in nursing.
Jaden Richardson, a 2013 Ness City High School graduate, accepted a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship and an $800 Hays City Silver Academic Award. Richardson is the son of Justin and Jaime Richardson, Ness City. He plans to major in accounting.
Ashley Snyder, a 2013 Ness City High School graduate, accepted a $1,200 Miller Black and Gold Academic Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in chemistry. Snyder is the daughter of Travis and Jennifer Snyder, Ness City. She plans a career in medicine.
