Steve and Diane Abram, Palatine, Ill., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Stephanie Abram, to Shad Schreiner, son of Alvin and Danene Schreiner, Olathe, Colo.

Grandparents of the couple are Betty Alter, Chicago, the late Leonard Abram and Niles Alter, Ann Hornof, Mount Prospect, Ill., the late Frank Hornof, Juliette Schreiner, Hays, the late Richard Schreiner, and George and Joan Swihart, Austin, Colo.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Palatine High School, a 2009 graduate of Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and is pursuing a physical therapy assistant degree. She is a physical therapy tech at Colorado Sport & Spine of Colorado Springs, Colo.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Hays High School, a 2006 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in communication disorders, and a 2010 graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center with a doctor of physical therapy degree. He is a physical therapist at Colorado Sport & Spine of Woodland Park, Colo.

A Jan. 4, 2013, wedding is planned at Whispering Pines Chapel, Granby, Colo.
