Nolan and Geralyn Allen, Hays, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth Allen, to John Anthony Walraven, son of John and Cheryl Walraven, Sterling, Colo.

Grandparents of the couple are Cecilia Allen, Brewster, Kathryn Kraus, Grainfield, Gene and Yvonne Brubacher, Reeds Spring, Mo., the late Everett Allen, the late Florian Kraus, and the late John and Dora Walraven.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and a 2010 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in sociology. She is employed at the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, Springfield, Mo.

The bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of Sterling High School, Sterling, Colo., and a 2010 graduate of FHSU with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed at Great Southern Bank, Springfield.

A Nov. 10, 2012, wedding is planned at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Hays.
