Dr. Tanya Jantz, Cimarron, and Julie Brown, Cimarron, announce the engagement and approaching marrige of their daughter, Alexandra "Alex" Rae Brown, to Matthew James Harkness, son of Ann Harkness, Leoti, and G.K. and Marcie Harkness, Towner, Colo.

Grandparents of the couple are Larry and Susan Jantz, Hays, Dee Carroll, Bountiful, Utah, the late Robert Carroll, and Thelma Harkness, Garden City.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Cimarron High School and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Washburn University in 2010. She is a probation officer for the Justice Network in Jonesboro, Ark.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from Wichita County High School, Leoti, and graduated with an associate's degree from Oklahoma State University. He is a technical trainer for Nordex in Jonesboro.

A May 26, 2013, wedding is planned at the Thorn Crown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Ark.
