Rex and Joyce Brown, Lewisport, Ky., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Wendy Sue Brown, to Charles Wooldridge III, son of Nancy and Charles Wooldridge Jr., Scottsville, Ky., formerly of Hays.

The bride-elect is a 1992 graduate of Daviess County High School. She received a bachleor's degree from Western Kentucky University and a master's degree from University of Kentucky. She is a senior Java developer at American General Finance.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1985 graduate of Warren Central High School and received a bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky in 1989. He is a territory sales manager at Altria.

A Sept. 12, 2009, wedding is planned at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Lewisport.
