Western KS students accept FHSU scholarships

Several local students accepted scholarships from Fort Hays State University for the 2012-13 academic year at a recent student recognition program in Colby.

* Taylor Weinland, a 2011 Wallace County High School graduate, accepted a $1,000 transfer student award. Weinland is the daughter of Brent and Shelly Weinland, Sharon Springs. She plans to major in speech-language pathology.

* Mackenzie Weiser, a 2012 Oakley High School graduate, accepted a $900 academic opportunity award in nursing and an $800 Hays City Silver academic award. Weiser is the daughter of Mickey and Brenda Weiser, Grinnell. She plans to major in nursing.
