Shannan Dinkel and Steve Voorhees were married May 24, 2008, at Lasada in Russell, with Marty Clark officiating.

Parents of the couple are Steve and Susie Young, Hays, and Steve and Linda Dinkel, Syracuse, and William and Pat Voorhees, Smith Center.

The bride was escorted by her father and step-father.

Honor attendant was Neysa Aiken, sister of the bride. Attendants were Lynette Voorhees, Sarah Werner, Kacy Gerstner, Chelsie Nelson and Megan Hope.

Best man was Jerry Voorhees, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Adam Hellegarde, Shannon Favinger, Brian Martin, Mike Fields, Robert Meyers and Duran Kolkar. Ushers were Bryan Aiken and Kurt Werner.

Junior attendants were Caitlin Young and Samantha and Sabrina Voorhees. Flowergirls were Nicole Voorhees and Skylar and Lilly Aiken. Ringbearers were James Voorhees and Dylan and Jayden Werner.

The bride is a graduate of Hays High School. She works in recreational services at Ellis Good Samaritan Center.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Smith Center High School and Barton County Community College. He is a paramedic for Ellis County EMS.

Following a wedding trip to Lake Tahoe and Estes Park, Colo., the newlyweds are at home in Ellis.
