Alvin and Irene Dortland, Victoria, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Oct. 24, 2009, with a dinner hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Children of the couple are Kathalie Hoffman and husband, Tom, Hays.

The couple have two grandchildren, Tracey Hoffman and wife, Stacey, and Troy Hoffman and friend, Heather, all of Kansas City. The couple have two great-grandchildren, Grant and Gavin.

Alvin and Irene Dortland were married Oct. 24, 1939, at Catholic Cathedral, Kansas City.
