WINFIELD -- Outstanding high school seniors attended Scholarship Day at Southwestern College in Winfield on March 6.
Ashli Dryden, Hays, participated in Scholarship Day. She is the daughter of Blaine and Sherry Dryden and attends Hays High School.
Scholarship Day is an invitation-only event for students officially accepted into SC and awarded academic scholarships at the college. These students and their families are invited to Scholarship Day and recognized for their achievements both in and outside of the classroom.
Students were individually presented academic certificates and gifts by Southwestern College President Richard Merriman. Southwestern College faculty and staff also attended the banquet to honor the students.
In addition to the luncheon banquet, the day's activities also included informative sessions with SC professors, current students, recent alumni, and college administrators.
Southwestern College is a private institution granting undergraduate and graduate degrees and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. More than 1,900 students attend classes at the main Winfield campus, at six professional studies sites, or online around the world.
