Edwin and Ruth Engel, Hays, formerly of Loretto, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 14, 2010, with a dinner. Family and friends also celebrated Ruth's 80th birthday and Edwin's 84th birthday this month.

The couple have five daughters, including a set of identical twins, Donna Woolen and husband, Doral, Wasilla, Alaska, and Sandra Cabellero and husband, Philip, Encounter Bay, Australia; Paula Robben and husband, Bill, Pampa, Texas; Joan Ice and husband, Andy, Johnson City, Tenn.; and Joyce Thompson and husband Kirk, Lancaster.

They have six granddaughters and five grandsons.

Edwin A. Engel and Ruth M. Suppes were married Oct. 17, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Loretto.
