Savannah Brooke Fleming and Marc Alan Downing were married Dec. 29, 2007, at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays, with father Daryl Olmstead officiating.

Parents of the couple are Rich and Lori Fleming, Copeland, and Alan and Diane Downing, Moscow.

Grandparents are Jo Anne Fleming, Copeland, the late John L. "Larry" Fleming, Gerald and Mae Jacobs, Dodge City, Bill and Doris Martin, Greeley, Colo., the late Virginia Martin, the late Coleman "Pudge" Downing and the late Carol Downing.

Great-grandmother is Jeri Davey, Moscow.

Honor attendant was Bridgett Blattner, friend of the bride. Attendants were Beth Simon and Abbey Downing, sisters of the groom, and Traci Schumacher and Stephanie Unruh, friends of the bride.

Best man was Tyler Findley, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Joe Simon, brother-in-law of the groom, and Jason Alm, Nathan Snyder and Chris Philippi, friends of the groom. Ushers were Ken Simon and Cory Ehrlich, friends of the groom.

Flowergirl was Gracie Downing, niece of the groom. Candlelighters were Daley and Jacey Handy, cousins of the bride, and Ali Martin, cousin of the groom.

The bride graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in English education. She will teach sophomore and senior English, newspaper and yearbook at La Crosse High School in August.

The bridegroom graduated from FHSU in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in geology. He is an independent petroleum geologist.

Following a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the newlyweds are at home in Hays.
