Larry and Joan (Rankin) Friend, Plainville, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 12.
Children of the couple are Jay Friend and wife, Dana, Plainville, and Joey Friend, Norcross, Ga. The couple has three grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden and Halli Friend, all of Plainville.
Larry is retired from coaching and teaching, and Joan recently retired as superintendent of schools in Syracuse.
The couple will have a reception at a later date.
Larry and Joan (Rankin) Friend were married Aug. 12, 1962, in Cimarron.
