Glenn and Wilmetta Gideon, Russell, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 12, 2010, with an open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the AmericInn conference room in Russell, hosted by their children and grandchildren. The couple requests no gifts.

Children of the couple are Donna Bauer and husband, Bill, Burlington; Doris Gideon, Topeka; and Cheryl Prester and husband, Brad, Russell.

Grandchildren of the couple are Brandon and Amber Bauer, and Jen and Derek Redenius, all of Wichita; Nicole and Matt Thompson, Josh and Rachel Miller, and Nathan Miller, all of Topeka; and Chantat and Chase Prester, Russell. The couple have four great-grandchildren.

Glenn and Wilmetta (Dietz) Gideon were married Sept. 9, 1960, in Hays.
