Cheryl Farnsworth, Hayes Center, Neb., and Dan Goin, Silt, Colo., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Roseanna Groin, to Dirk Vapenik, son of Jerry and Kristy Vapenik, Wauneta.

Grandparents of the couple are Donald and Ann Carter, Hayes Center, Chuck and Ethel Brewer, Punkin Center, Colo., Don and Betty Goin, Kersey, Colo., Ed and Annabelle Vapenik, Wauneta, and Leonard and Iris Nelms, North Platte, Neb.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Hayes Center. She is pursuing a nursing degree at Fort Hays State University. She is a certified nurses aide at Hays Good Samaritan.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of Wauneta-Palisade and a 2008 graduate of Northwest Kansas Technical College with an associate's degree in diesel technology. He is employed at Radke Implement, Millberger.

An Aug. 29, 2009, wedding is planned at St. James Catholic Church, Trenton, Neb.
