Carol and Daryl Groen, Hays, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kristen Groen, to Dustin Koster, son of Ed Koster, Sayre, Okla., and Ann Albers, Beloit.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hays High School and is pursuing a degree in exercise science at Barton County Community College. She is employed at Hays Recreation Commission as a fitness instructor.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Wilson High School, and is pursuing an associates degree in science at Barton County Community College and will be a paramedic. He is employed at Hays Medical Center in the emergency room.

An Oct. 2, 2010 wedding is planned at Celebration Community Church, Hays.
