Adolph and Alfreda Hammerschmidt

Adolph and Alfreda Hammerschmidt, Hays, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday with a dinner at Rose Garden Restaurant, Hays, hosted by their children.

Children of the couple are Steve Hammerschmidt, West Palm Beach, Fla., Lisa Staab and husband, Doug, Tammy Gottschalk and husband, Jeff, all of Holcomb, and Jolene Burd and husband, Mike, Hays.

The couple have 11 grandchildren, Shawn Hammerschmidt, Kristy Carswell and husband, Aaron, Salina, April Klaus, Hays, Joshua Hammerschmidt and wife, Loren, Chicago, Lucas Staab and fiance, Jessica Johnston, Raegan Staab, Wichita, Rylee Staab, Breanna Gottschalk and Dalton Gottschalk, all of Holcomb. The couple have seven great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Hammerschmidt, Camden and Tagen Carswell, Kyler and Karsten Koenke, and Tatum and Kenzie Hammerschmidt.

Those unable to attend were Rachel Hammerschmidt, South Lebanon, Ohio and Paul Hammerschmidt, Jacksonville, Fla.

Adolph Hammerschmidt and Alfreda Karlin were married June 16, 1948 at St. Severin Country Church, Severin.
