Jeff and Shari Hertel, Victoria, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brittney Ann Hertel, to Chad Michael Lorson, son of Phillip and Debra Lorson, Hope.

Grandparents of the couple are Eileen Kastens, Hays, Reita Glassman, Hays, Theresa Lorson, Hope, the late Waldean Witt, the late Clarence and Rosemary Hertel, the late Florean Glassman, and the late Paul Lorson.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Victoria High School. She is attending Manhattan Area Technical College and Barton County Community College and pursuing certification in basic emergency medical services and a degree in nursing. She is a certified nursing assistant in the emergency room at Memorial Health System, Abilene.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Hope High School and a 2002 graduate of Barton County Community College with a degree in agricultural business. He is employed as a carman with Union Pacific, Herington, and along with his father, he is owner of Lorson Electric and Circle L Farms, Hope.

An April 10, 2010, wedding is planned at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.
