Dennis and Debbie Hertel, Wichita, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brandi Hertel, to Kris Sheldon, son of Mark and Jan Sheldon, Pratt.

Grandparents are Clarence and Helen Hertel, Russell, and Don Bushnell, Gardner.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Pratt High School and received a legal secretary diploma from Wichita Area Technical College. She is a nursing home coordinator at Wichita Psychiatric Consultants.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Kinsley High School and Pratt Community College with an associate's degree in applied science in electrical power technology. He is an apprentice lineman at Midwest Energy.

A Sept. 27, 2008, wedding is planned at Wyldewood Cellars Winery, Mulvane.
