Area students earn graduation honors at K-State

More than 350 Kansas State University students have earned graduation honors with their degrees.

Earning the university's top graduation honor, summa cum laude, were 91 students who earned an academic average of 3.95 or higher; 131 students graduated magna cum laude for an academic average of 3.85 to 3.949; and 128 students graduated cum laude for an academic average of 3.750 to 3.848. Forty-eight students earned graduation honors for multiple degrees.

Kansas State University students earning graduation honors include:

St. Francis: Courtney Douthit, bachelor of science in agriculture, cum laude; and Heather Hnizdil, bachelor of fine arts, cum laude.

Dresden: Kendra Spresser, bachelor of science, cum laude.

Ellis: Lauren Wheeler, bachelor of science, cum laude.

Hays: Jamie Ball, bachelor of science, magna cum laude; Charles Carlson, bachelor of science in electrical engineering, cum laude; Kelton Stecklein, bachelor of science, magna cum laude; and Allison Straub, bachelor of science in business administration, cum laude.

Norton: KaraJo Sprigg, bachelor of science, summa cum laude.

Alton: Nathaniel Mick, bachelor of science in agriculture, magna cum laude.

Logan: Kathryn Hartman, bachelor of science in family studies and human services, magna cum laude.

Phillipsburg: Rebecca Van Allen, bachelor of science in business administration, summa cum laude.

Selden: Andrew Broeckelman, bachelor of science in biological systems engineering, summa cum laude.

Colby: Taylor McLemore, bachelor of science in education, summa cum laude

Goodland: Callee Miller, bachelor of science, magna cum laude; and Jace Mosbarger, bachelor of science in agriculture, cum laude.

Colby: Matthew Oesterreich, bachelor of science in civil engineering, cum laude; and Cody Wark, bachelor of science in chemical engineering, cum laude.

WaKeeney: Brandon Katt, bachelor of science, magna cum laude.

Sharon Springs: Chricket Short, bachelor of science in human nutrition, magna cum laude, and bachelor of science, magna cum laude.
