Randy and Vernell Major, Hays, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Raynell Catherine Major, to Aaron Paul Carpenter, son of William and Linda Carpenter, St. John.

Grandparents of the couple are JoAnn Adams, Hays, Fred and Janet Adams, Larned, and Robert and Mary Carpenter, Hamilton.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and Fort Hays State University with an associate's degree. She is employed at Mid America Management, Great Bend.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Ulysses High School and Kettering University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is an engineer for New Age Industrial, Norton.

A Nov. 3, 2012, wedding is planned at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
