Frank and Mary Mermis, Hays, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2009, with a Mass at St. Ann Catholic Church, Walker, with Father William Surmeier officiating. Following Mass, a social and dinner was at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Victoria.

Children of the couple are Charlene Mermis, La Crosse; and Benita and Steve Meyers, Jerald F. Mermis and Julie and Dale Pfannenstiel, Hays. Others attending were Adrienne Mermis and fiance Randy Bortz, Stillwater, Okla.; Wendy Meyers and friend Austin Gabel, and Lacy and Lindsey Pfannenstiel, Hays; and Jerald Mosier, Beloit.

Frank Mermis, Walker, and Mary (Rupp) Mermis, Ellis, were married Oct. 3, 1959, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, with Father Gabrial Giles officiating.
